Tenerife continues to be the Canary Islands’ most sought-after destination for holiday rentals, with 11 municipalities featuring among the region’s 25 most popular locations for summer stays.
The latest figures, published by holiday rental platform Holidu, are based on searches for accommodation between 4 July and 30 August 2026 and highlight the island’s dominance, from popular beach resorts to quieter inland towns.
Santa Cruz Among the Most Popular Destinations
The study places Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Santa Cruz de Tenerife at the top of the rankings as the two most searched destinations.
Both cities also offer some of the best value, with a median nightly rate of €108, making them among the more affordable options on the list.
Other Tenerife destinations attracting strong interest include:
- Adeje
- Puerto de la Cruz
- Candelaria
- Arona
- La Orotava
- San Miguel de Abona
- Granadilla de Abona
- Garachico
- Arico
- Icod de los Vinos
Tenerife Dominates the Rankings
No other island has as many locations featured in the top 25.
The breakdown is:
- Tenerife: 11 municipalities
- Gran Canaria: 5
- Lanzarote: 4
- Fuerteventura: 4
- La Palma: 1
The figures underline Tenerife’s appeal to a wide range of visitors, whether they’re looking for busy tourist resorts, historic towns or quieter parts of the island.
The Most Expensive and Cheapest Places to Stay
While demand is high across the archipelago, accommodation prices vary considerably.
The highest median nightly rates are found in:
- Yaiza (Lanzarote): €260
- Tías (Lanzarote): €172
- Adeje (Tenerife): €166
At the other end of the scale, the best-value destinations include:
- Icod de los Vinos (Tenerife): €95
- Los Llanos de Aridane (La Palma): €101
- Puerto del Rosario (Fuerteventura): €101
That means holiday rental prices across the islands range from €95 to €260 per night, depending on the destination.
More Than Just the Tourist Resorts
One of the more interesting findings is that visitors are looking beyond Tenerife’s traditional holiday hotspots.
While Adeje, Arona and Puerto de la Cruz remain popular, towns such as Garachico, La Orotava, Icod de los Vinos and Arico are also attracting increasing attention from travellers seeking a different side of the island.
Tenerife Remains the Island of Choice
Thanks to its year-round climate, varied landscapes and wide choice of accommodation, Tenerife continues to attract holidaymakers throughout the year rather than just during the traditional summer season.
With almost half of the Canary Islands’ most in-demand destinations located on the island, the latest figures reinforce Tenerife’s position as the leading holiday rental destination in the archipelago.
