Laia Almansa Joins Fedes Ascensores La Laguna for the New Season

Fedes Ascensores La Laguna has added another new face to its squad ahead of the 2026/27 Liga Iberdrola season, with 21-year-old setter Laia Almansa joining the club.

Almansa arrives in Tenerife after playing last season with CV Premiá de Dalt and says the ambition of the project was a big part of her decision to make the move.

She began her volleyball career in Catalonia, playing for clubs including CVB Barça and CV Sant Cugat, before moving to CV Hidramar Gran Canaria. During the 2024/25 season, she helped the club secure third place in the Spanish Junior Championship.

A new challenge in Tenerife

Speaking about the move, Almansa said she was attracted by the confidence Fedes Ascensores La Laguna had shown in her.

She also liked the club’s plans for the future and sees the move as a chance to push herself both on and off the court.

As a setter, her job will be to keep things moving and get the best out of the players around her. No pressure then.

Almansa says she wants to bring energy, commitment and a positive attitude to the squad from day one.

Looking forward to meeting the fans

She has also sent a message to the club’s supporters, saying she is looking forward to meeting them and feeling their support throughout the season.

The hope, obviously, is that there will be plenty of good moments to celebrate along the way.

With the new Liga Iberdrola campaign approaching, Almansa becomes another piece of the puzzle as Fedes Ascensores La Laguna looks to build an ambitious squad for the season ahead.
