Las Eras promenade in Fasnia getting a €756k upgrade… finally moving forward

If you know Las Eras, you’ll know it’s got potential… but it’s never quite felt finished.

That looks like it’s about to change.

The Cabildo has approved a new agreement with Fasnia council to push ahead with improvements to the seafront promenade, with a budget of around €756,000.

What’s actually happening

This isn’t a brand new idea.

There was already an agreement in place from 2023… but like a lot of projects here, it needed tweaking.

Technical changes, permissions from Coastal Authority, rising costs… the usual story.

So this new version basically resets things so it can actually go ahead properly.

What they’re planning to improve

It’s not just a quick tidy-up job.

They’re looking at a full upgrade of the promenade area:

New and more consistent paving
Better seating and shaded areas
Updated railings and street furniture
Proper access down to the beach with ramps

So in theory… more usable, more accessible, and a bit less rough around the edges.

Who’s paying for it

The Cabildo is covering the bulk of it… just over 86%.

Fasnia council is putting in the remaining 14%.

Which is fairly typical… the bigger budgets usually come from the island level.

Timeline… don’t rush down there just yet

Works are scheduled between 2026 and 2027.

So yes… it’s happening, but not tomorrow.

Plenty of time for the usual delays, adjustments, and “slight changes” along the way.

Why it matters

Places like Las Eras often get overlooked compared to the south.

But improving smaller coastal areas spreads things out a bit… both for residents and tourism.

Done properly, it makes the area more enjoyable without turning it into another overdeveloped hotspot.

One thing to keep an eye on

The plan sounds good.

The key, as always, is execution.

Because there’s a big difference between what’s approved on paper… and what actually gets delivered a couple of years down the line.
