La Rosa Street Set to Reopen After Three Years of Major Improvement Works

Anyone who has driven through Santa Cruz de Tenerife over the past few years will know that roadworks have become part of daily life.

One of the biggest projects is finally coming to an end, with La Rosa Street due to reopen to traffic on Thursday 30 July, three years after work first began.

The reopening marks an important milestone for the El Toscal neighbourhood, restoring one of its main traffic routes.

Traffic Changes Begin This Week

Before the street officially reopens, council teams will spend the first part of the week returning the area to its normal traffic layout.

This includes updating road signs along Santiago Street, which will once again allow vehicles to travel towards San Isidro Street.

Drivers are advised to pay attention to the new signage as the changes come into effect.

Bus Route Tested Before Full Launch

Public transport will also begin returning to normal.

Local bus operator TITSA will carry out trial runs of Route 914 until 3 August, using La Rosa Street as part of the service.

During the testing period, buses will stop at two designated locations while the route is assessed before becoming fully operational.

Bringing El Toscal Back Together

The extensive redevelopment has been designed to do more than simply resurface the road.

The project aims to improve accessibility, make it easier for people to move around the neighbourhood and create a better environment for residents, businesses and visitors alike.

After three years of disruption, the reopening of La Rosa Street should make life considerably easier for anyone travelling through this part of Santa Cruz.
