Classic Minis Take Over La Esperanza for Popular Annual Gathering

There’s something about the original Mini that still makes people smile.

Whether it’s the unmistakable shape, the bright colours or the memories they bring back, these little British classics continue to attract fans wherever they go.

That was certainly the case in La Esperanza, where almost 100 classic Minis filled the town square for the 13th MiniManía Classic Exhibition, one of the highlights of the local festivities in honour of Our Lady of Hope.

A Display of Motoring History

Owners travelled from across the Canary Islands, including Gran Canaria, La Gomera and Lanzarote, while the largest group came from different parts of Tenerife.

The exhibition featured an impressive mix of models, from original saloons and estates to carefully customised versions. Many of the vehicles are now more than 50 years old, having been restored to an exceptionally high standard.

For many visitors, it was like walking through a miniature motoring museum.

Bringing the Sixties Back to Life

The organisers encouraged participants to embrace the spirit of the Mini’s heyday by dressing in 1960s fashion.

Bell-bottom trousers, colourful dresses and retro outfits added to the atmosphere, creating the perfect backdrop for one of Britain’s most iconic cars.

As the square filled with brightly painted Minis, visitors were able to get up close, admire the craftsmanship and peek inside vehicles that have become true collector’s items.

A Growing Tradition in El Rosario

Organised by MiniManía Tenerife together with the El Rosario Town Council, the event has grown steadily over the past thirteen years.

What began as a gathering for local Mini enthusiasts has become one of the best-known events in the municipality’s summer celebrations, attracting owners and visitors from across the Canary Islands.

For classic car lovers, it’s another reminder that Tenerife’s event calendar isn’t just about music and fiestas. Sometimes the biggest attraction comes on four very small wheels.
