La Laguna celebrates wine, food and culture throughout November

November is a good month to enjoy a glass of local wine in La Laguna. The city is bringing back its annual celebration of Tacoronte-Acentejo wines, with a programme of tastings, food, music, art and cultural events running throughout the month.

Now in its 23rd edition, November, Month of Wine is organised by La Laguna Town Hall and the Tacoronte-Acentejo Designation of Origin Regulatory Council.

The main event will be Noche en Tinto on Thursday 26 November, taking place around Plaza de La Concepción. It will bring together local wineries, restaurants and food producers, with visitors able to sample wines from the 2026 harvest.

There are plenty of other activities in the programme before then. Things get underway on 4 November with the exhibition La Vinal at the La Capilla art gallery at the University of La Laguna. The following day, Vinoteca La Laguna Gran Hotel will host a sensory experience, while the Casino de La Laguna holds a chess tournament on 6 November.

Wine, opera and comic books

Music and culture also feature in the programme.

On 10 November, Multicines Tenerife will screen the opera Carmen. On 15 November, Casa Anchieta hosts a meeting between mezzo-soprano Silvia Sorita and historian Néstor Verona, looking at the place of wine in the world of music.

The popular Entre Viñas y Viñetas returns on 19 and 20 November, organised with Librería Lemus and featuring comic book author Teresa Valero.

Twelve wineries at Noche en Tinto

The big gathering on 26 November will feature twelve wineries from the Tacoronte-Acentejo region:

Bodegas Insulares Tenerife, Cráter, Loher, Linaje del Pago, Presas Ocampo, Marba, Viña Estévez, Tierra Fundida, El Mocanero, Guayonge, Trancao de Acentejo and Viña El Drago.

Food will be just as important, with a good selection of local restaurants and businesses taking part. These include La Topa, La Tropical, Tasca La Cencerra, Taberna El Remojo, Casa Domingo, Restaurante Casino de La Laguna, Pub Sócrates, La Tasquita de Carol, Mata Males, Clandestino and Winelight.

Other participating producers and businesses include Cooperativa La Candelaria, Baggerman El Holandés, Granja Rosalise, Las Croquetas de La Oliva, Supermercados SUMA, Vinoteca La Laguna Gran Hotel, Nanai and De La Tierra.

There will also be a fashion and sustainability element, with designer José Javier González of reDisain presenting creations inspired by recycling and the world of wine.

A better year for the vineyards

This year’s event comes after a welcome improvement in wine production across the Tacoronte-Acentejo designation.

Its president, José Manuel González, says the 2026 harvest is 60% higher than last year’s. The previous harvest was badly affected by prolonged periods of drought and was the lowest on record for the designation.

A rather better result this time around, then, and another good reason to spend some time enjoying the local wines in La Laguna.
