One of the world’s biggest holiday ownership companies has officially arrived in the Canary Islands.
Hilton Grand Vacations (HGV) has completed the rebranding and refurbishment of Royal Sunset Beach Club and Sunset Harbour Club in Costa Adeje, marking the company’s first resorts in the archipelago and the beginning of a wider expansion in Tenerife.
The two former Diamond Resorts properties are the first of five Tenerife resorts that Hilton Grand Vacations plans to bring under its brand.
Two Well-Known Resorts Begin a New Chapter
Both resorts have undergone extensive modernisation while retaining the apartment-style accommodation that has made them popular with returning guests over the years.
Royal Sunset Beach Club
Originally opened in 1990, Royal Sunset Beach Club is located just 100 metres from Playa Fañabé and has built a loyal following, with many owners returning year after year.
The resort offers 126 apartments, ranging from studios to larger family accommodation, alongside facilities including:
- Heated outdoor swimming pool
- Jacuzzi
- Wellness area and sauna
- Fitness centre
- Children’s and teenagers’ clubs
- Sustainable gardens
Its location also places guests within easy reach of Siam Park, Tenerife South Airport and Teide National Park.
Sunset Harbour Club
Located in the heart of Torviscas, Sunset Harbour Club has also been refreshed as part of the rebranding programme.
The resort features 124 apartments, surrounded by landscaped gardens and swimming pools, with facilities including:
- Two outdoor pools
- Pool bar and restaurant
- Fitness centre
- Jacuzzi and sun terrace
- Children’s play area
- Grocery shop
- 24-hour reception
Its central location makes it an easy base for exploring Costa Adeje’s beaches, restaurants and shopping areas.
First Step in Hilton’s European Expansion
Hilton Grand Vacations says the Tenerife launch represents far more than the opening of two resorts.
Company executives described it as the starting point for a broader expansion across Europe, with Tenerife chosen as the ideal location thanks to its year-round tourism appeal and established reputation as one of Spain’s leading holiday destinations.
Local Team Praised
During the official opening ceremony, company representatives repeatedly highlighted the dedication of the local workforce, with several members of staff having worked at the resorts for more than three decades.
Executives said the experience and commitment of the existing teams had made the transition to the Hilton Grand Vacations brand a natural one.
Investment in Tenerife’s Tourism Future
Local tourism officials also welcomed the investment, describing it as another vote of confidence in Tenerife’s high-quality tourism sector.
Alongside improving visitor facilities, the project is expected to support long-term employment while strengthening Costa Adeje’s position as one of the island’s leading resort destinations.
With two resorts now operating under the Hilton Grand Vacations name and three more planned, the company has made it clear that Tenerife is central to its ambitions in Europe.
