The village of Armeñime, in the municipality of Adeje, is getting ready for five days of celebrations in honour of Our Lady of Candelaria, with a programme that mixes live music, traditional events, family activities and religious celebrations.
Running from 23 to 27 July 2026, the festivities are free to attend and offer something for all ages.
Festival Opens with the Children’s Queen Gala
The celebrations begin on Thursday 23 July with the traditional early morning wake-up parade through the village before the evening’s Children’s Queen Gala.
The event features performances from local children, singer Güicho Estévez and the Adeje Municipal Dance School, before the night’s entertainment continues with a youth party hosted by DJ Abián Reyes.
Friday Brings the Adult Queen Gala
On Friday 24 July, attention turns to the Adult Queen Gala, featuring performances by the Anabel Melián Dance School, comedian Yanely Hernández and Marea 3.
The evening concludes with a dance led by Amanecer de La Gomera.
Tradition Takes Centre Stage on Saturday
Saturday combines community traditions with live entertainment.
The day starts with Zumba in the village square, followed by water inflatables for children.
In the evening, the Romería Offering to Our Lady of Candelaria sees local groups, organisations and residents come together in one of the festival’s most traditional events.
Later, visitors can enjoy a variety show featuring singer Javier Linares and comedy performances by Cristo y la Madre Canaria, before dancing into the night with Sensación Gomera and Atlantic Orchestra.
Sunday Celebrates the Patron Saint
The main religious celebrations take place on Sunday 26 July.
The day includes traditional games, more water inflatables and a foam party before an evening Mass in honour of Our Lady of Candelaria, accompanied by the Boleros de Armeñime group.
The procession through the village will be accompanied by the Patronato Musical Histórica Villa de Adeje Band, followed by a fireworks display from Hermanos Toste Pyrotechnics.
Back in the square, Javier Linares will perform the Hymn to La Morenita, followed by a concert from Alma de Bolero and a final evening dance with Fascinación Latina.
The Festival Closes on Monday
The final day begins with a community meal featuring traditional papas, costillas y piñas, prepared by Comidas Paco.
The celebrations conclude with a farewell dance performed by Orquesta Pasión Gomera, during which the organisers will also introduce the new Armeñime Festival Committee for 2027.
Whether you’re visiting for the live music, family activities or to experience a traditional Canarian village fiesta, Armeñime’s celebrations promise five lively days in the heart of Adeje.
