Where to See the San Juan Bonfires in Tenerife 2026 (23 June)

The magical Night of San Juan returns to Tenerife on 23 June 2026, bringing bonfires, live music, fireworks, beach gatherings and centuries-old traditions to towns across the island. From the north to the south, thousands of people will gather to celebrate the summer solstice with one of Tenerife’s most anticipated nights of the year.

Puerto de la Cruz

Puerto de la Cruz hosts one of Tenerife’s most iconic San Juan celebrations. Events begin at 6:30pm with the traditional procession of the San Juan figure from the Municipal Market to Playa Jardín via Castillo de San Felipe.

The main bonfire will be lit at 10:00pm on Playa Jardín, accompanied by live performances throughout the evening:

  • 9:00pm – Grupo Caracolas: Matria
  • 11:00pm – Grupo Jeita: De Vuelta
  • 1:00am – Tribute to Maná by La Chalana

The celebrations continue into the following morning with the traditional Baño de las Cabras, a historic ritual held at the fishing harbour on 24 June.

Los Cristianos (Arona)

One of the busiest San Juan celebrations in southern Tenerife takes place on Los Cristianos Beach. Visitors can enjoy live music, batucadas, street entertainment and the traditional midnight swim in the sea.

The highlight of the evening is the lighting of the main bonfire, drawing residents and visitors together to welcome the summer.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife

The capital offers several popular locations to celebrate San Juan, including Las Teresitas Beach, Los Charcos de Valleseco, and Acorán.

Los Charcos de Valleseco

4:00pm – 12:30am

The programme includes live music, food trucks, family activities and water inflatables. Entertainment will feature:

  • Orquesta Sabrosa
  • La Maquinaria
  • Son Canarí
  • Iván Cacú y su Orquesta

Acorán

From 7:00pm

  • 7:00pm – Orquesta Topin
  • 9:00pm – Bonfire lighting
  • 9:30pm onwards – Live music with David Pérez

Puerto de Santiago (Santiago del Teide)

Puerto de Santiago will host a full evening of celebrations on the beachfront.

Activities begin at 7:00pm with DJs and a Zumba session led by Pierre. The main bonfire lighting takes place at 10:00pm, accompanied by fireworks and special effects.

At midnight, a final fireworks display will mark the arrival of San Juan Day.
