Tenerife’s Romería Season 2026… Months of Fiestas, Food and Proper Tradition

This is when the island changes a bit.

From late April onwards… weekends stop being quiet.

The Season Starts Now

It all kicks off with one of the big ones:

📅 April 26 – Romería de San Marcos (Tegueste)

After that… it doesn’t really slow down.

May… The Busy One

If you’re only picking one month, it’s probably this.

You’ve got:

  • Baile de Magos (Santa Cruz)
  • Romería del Pico (Tejina)
  • Los Realejos (Baile & Romería)
  • Candelaria Baile de Magos

And plenty more across the island.

Most weekends… something’s happening somewhere.

June & July Keep It Going

It carries straight through:

  • La Orotava (Baile de Magos + Romería)
  • Tacoronte, Igueste, Granadilla
  • San Benito (La Laguna)… one of the biggest

By this point… you’re either fully into it… or avoiding it completely.

Summer Doesn’t Slow It Down

Even into August and September:

  • Garachico (San Roque)
  • La Victoria
  • Arafo
  • El Médano
  • San Miguel

The romería calendar just keeps ticking along.

What It Really Means

It’s not just events.

It’s:

  • Dressing properly
  • Eating all day…and possibly a little wine too!
  • Music everywhere
  • Running into people you didn’t plan to see

And repeating it most weekends.

Worth Knowing

You don’t need to do all of them…

…but once you’ve been to one properly, you’ll probably end up at a few more.
