Tacoronte Celebrates Lomo Colorado Festivities with Five Days of Music, Tradition and Family Events

The Lomo Colorado neighbourhood in Tacoronte will celebrate its annual festivities in honour of the Santísimo Cristo del Lomo Colorado from 6 to 10 August, with a programme of religious celebrations, live music and family activities.

Organised by the Amigos del Lomo Colorado Festival Association, in collaboration with Tacoronte Town Hall’s Festivals and Citizen Participation Department, the celebrations offer something for all ages.

Music Opens the Festivities

The festivities begin on Thursday, 6 August, at 9:00pm with a Youth Night featuring performances by Yera Waque and DJ Wes.

Weekend of Tradition and Entertainment

Saturday’s programme includes children’s activities with bouncy castles, face painting, a motorbike gathering, and a children’s show starring magician Sergio Dion from 5:00pm.

Later in the afternoon, a Holy Mass will be followed by the traditional procession of the Santísimo Cristo del Lomo Colorado and Nuestra Señora del Carmen, accompanied by the Santa Cecilia Music Band and the Brotherhood of Cristo de los Dolores of Tacoronte.

The procession will travel along Calle El Calvario to La Era, where Moisés Neri will perform before a fireworks display. The evening concludes with a dance featuring Orquesta Swing Latino.

The neighbourhood will also host a community lunch with performances by the folk groups Nuestra Señora del Carmen and Viñátigos Centenarios, followed by a dance with Primera Marcha.

Family Activities Until 10 August

The celebrations continue on 9 and 10 August with a wide range of activities, including:

  • Solteros vs Casados football match
  • Water and foam party
  • Variety show featuring “Volando Voy” by Nieves Bravo and Javier Peña
  • Fito & Fitipaldis tribute concert
  • Gymkhana
  • Envite card tournament final
  • Closing dance with Grupo La Calle

The annual festivities remain one of the highlights of the summer calendar in Lomo Colorado, bringing together residents and visitors for several days of community celebrations.
