A Celebration of Contemporary Dance

MAPAS, the Market of Performing Arts of the South Atlantic, has become an important platform for showcasing international contemporary performance.

This year’s programme explores how dance can respond to themes including identity, memory, storytelling, collective experiences and the passage of time, while creating a dialogue between international productions and the growing contemporary dance scene in the Canary Islands.

The festival also strengthens connections between visiting artists and local creative communities through residencies and collaborative initiatives, helping position Tenerife as an important meeting point for contemporary performing arts.
