The Estadio Iván Ramallo in Los Realejos became a sea of blue and white as the third edition of the CD Tenerife: Seña de Identidad project came to a close.
The initiative has introduced around 2,000 schoolchildren from eight municipalities in northern Tenerife to the world of CD Tenerife through guided visits to the Heliodoro Rodríguez López Stadium and the Ciudad Deportiva Javier Pérez.
A Special Day for Pupils and Families
The closing event brought together participating students, teachers and families, creating a festive atmosphere that celebrated a year of learning, sport and shared experiences.
Guests were welcomed by the host municipality’s fanfare, while Los Realejos Mayor Adolfo González highlighted the value of the project in helping young people feel a stronger connection to their island’s football club.
Also attending were CD Tenerife President Felipe Miñambres, first-team players Fabricio and Fran Sabina, along with members of the club’s EDI team and players from both the men’s and women’s academy structures.
Reaching Communities Across Tenerife
During the event, Felipe Miñambres thanked all participating schools and acknowledged the support of the Canary Islands Government, the Cabildo de Tenerife and the various local councils involved.
Over its three editions, the programme has reached 24 of Tenerife’s 31 municipalities, making it one of the club’s most successful community initiatives.
Each school received a framed photograph as a keepsake of their visits to the club’s main facilities, while the celebration concluded with a large group photograph featuring students, teachers and officials.
More Than Football
The latest phase of the project ran from 2 December 2025 to 2 June 2026, involving schools from:
- Los Realejos
- Puerto de la Cruz
- La Orotava
- Santa Úrsula
- La Victoria de Acentejo
- La Matanza de Acentejo
- El Sauzal
- Tacoronte
Through the programme, students learn about football, inclusion, healthy living and sustainability.
A key part of the experience includes participation in DISAFÍO – Fútbol Canario por la Inclusión, where pupils receive talks about inclusion in sport, equality, health and nutrition.
Participants also have the opportunity to attend official CD Tenerife matches and take part in the end-of-year festival, where prizes and souvenirs are distributed.
The project continues to strengthen the bond between CD Tenerife and young people across the island, using football as a vehicle for education, inclusion and community spirit.
