Zombies return to take over La Laguna for Halloween

Zombies, monsters and all manner of creepy characters will descend on La Laguna on Saturday 31 October, as the Isla Calavera Zombie Walk returns for another Halloween outing.

The fun starts at Plaza del Adelantado from 5pm, with free zombie make-up available for anyone wanting to transform themselves into one of the undead. There will also be food stalls and activities to get everyone in the mood before the main event.

You don’t need an elaborate costume or any acting skills. Just turn up ready to join the fun, whether you fancy looking like a freshly risen corpse or something a little more terrifying.

The zombie parade starts at 8pm

The procession sets off from Plaza del Adelantado at 8pm, heading along Calle Obispo Rey Redondo towards Plaza de la Concepción before returning via Calle Herradores.

Actor and comedian Aarón Gómez will host the event, accompanied by the Tejina Music Band.

Once the zombies return to the square, there will be prizes for the best zombie look, best zombie walk and best group. DJ NAGOBA will then keep the entertainment going.

The event is open to all ages and forms part of the activities surrounding the Isla Calavera Fantastic Film Festival, which brings a suitably spooky atmosphere to Tenerife at this time of year.

So, if you’ve ever fancied joining the undead for an evening, this is your chance. Just try not to scare the locals too much.
