Volcano Fest Returns to La Laguna with a Full Month of Music, Art and Cultural Resistance

What started as a small concert series has grown into something much bigger.

And this year… Volcano Fest stretches across more than a month.

More Than Just Gigs

The 2026 edition runs for 33 days and mixes:

  • Live music
  • Photography
  • Contemporary art
  • Cultural exhibitions

Across different venues in La Laguna.

It Starts with Art

🗓 May 4 – 16
📍 Ex Convent of Santo Domingo

The exhibition “Under the Volcano” by Ci.Ro. Manrique opens the programme, using volcanic landscapes as the centrepiece of the work.

Free entry too… which helps.

Expográfica Returns

🗓 May 18 – 22
📍 Centro Ciudadano El Tranvía

This year focuses on local female photographers who’ve documented the festival over the years.

A quieter part of the programme… but probably one of the more interesting ones.

The Main Music Dates

📍 Aguere Cultural
🗓 May 8 & 9
🎟️ Free entry until full

Friday, May 8

  • Banda Sin Nombre
  • WREX
  • Niña Coyote eta Chico Tornado

Saturday, May 9

  • Cuarto Marginal
  • Dätcha Mandala
  • Tiburona

Alternative rock running through most of it.

One More Special Show

🗓 May 22
📍 Bowie Hall

The project Duele previews its upcoming album Autohipnosis in a smaller, more intimate format.

Expanding Beyond Tenerife

The festival also closes with an event in:

📍 Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
🗓 June 6

Which shows how much Volcano Fest has grown beyond just one city.

Worth Knowing

What makes Volcano Fest different is that it doesn’t feel overly polished or corporate.

Still feels independent.

Still feels local.

And that’s probably why people keep turning up.
