If you’re in the Santiago del Teide area this weekend, there’ll be plenty going on.
The third edition of Tenerife Vive+Santiago del Teide returns on 10th and 11th July, bringing two evenings of free live music to the Plaza de Puerto de Santiago.
Headlining the festival is Spanish-German singer-songwriter Álvaro Soler, best known for hits including El Mismo Sol and Sofía.
Joining him over the weekend will be Kidd Voodoo, Neo Pinto, Ledes Díaz, Mandy, TaydLeon, DJ Dream, Lemus, David Pérez, DJ 8Smile and DJ Marcos Gorrín, along with several other performers.
Best of all, admission is completely free.
More than just a music festival
The festival also forms part of Santiago del Teide’s wider Youth Week and Summer Youth programme, with activities taking place throughout July and August.
Aimed at young people aged between 12 and 35, the programme includes a variety of events and activities designed to keep the summer busy long after the concerts have finished.
It’s always good to see smaller municipalities putting together events like this. They bring visitors into the area, give local businesses a boost and, perhaps more importantly, give younger residents something to get involved in during the summer holidays.
If you’re looking for some free live music this weekend, Puerto de Santiago could be worth adding to your plans.
