Rubén Martín and Yeray Rodríguez took the overall win at the 52nd Orvecame Isla Tenerife Historic Rally, finishing 43.9 seconds ahead of the chasing team after two days of competition across the north of the island.
Driving a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo V, the Tenerife pair clocked a total time of 1 hour, 5 minutes and 10.8 seconds in the event held on 23 and 24 October. It was the final round of the 2026 Spanish Historic Rally Championship, with 74 teams signed up.
Raimon Martín and Rusbel Pérez finished second in their Talbot Sunbeam Lotus, recording 1:05:54.7. Gabriel Mesa and Francisco Javier Romero took third place in a Peugeot 106 GTI, just over a minute behind the winners.
It was a close contest at the front, with only 43.9 seconds separating the first two crews.
Three categories, two days of rallying
Organised by Club Deportivo Rallyten Sport, the event featured three competition categories. There were 43 teams in Speed, 15 in Regularity Sport and 16 in Regularity.
The route covered five stages in northern Tenerife over two days, with ten special stages scheduled. Two were neutralised during the event.
In Regularity Sport, José Juan Díaz and Rosmen Díaz claimed victory, while Jaime and Enrique Carbonell secured the national championship title for the season.
Rufino Sasian Villegas and Carmen Sasian Villegas won the Regularity category. Esteban Munné and Olga Feliú finished as runners-up in the rally but took the 2026 national title.
Puerto de la Cruz at the centre of the action
Puerto de la Cruz hosted much of the rally’s activity. The Gran Hotel Taoro housed the event office and administrative checks, while the harbour esplanade served as the service park and starting point for the cars.
The rally wrapped up with the trophy presentation in Plaza del Charco.
A strong result for the local pair, and a fitting finish to the Spanish Historic Rally Championship season.
