Playa de las Américas San Silvestre returns for its 10th anniversary this New Year’s Eve

Fancy running off a few calories before the New Year’s celebrations get under way? The 10th San Silvestre Golden Mile Playa de las Américas takes place on Thursday, 31 December, giving runners a chance to finish 2026 with a bit of exercise.

Organised by the Arona Municipal Sports Board, the popular race starts at 10am on Avenida de las Américas in Playa de las Américas.

The main event is a 5km run, open to those wanting to enjoy a festive race rather than worry too much about the stopwatch. There are also children’s races for youngsters aged 5 to 15, making it an option for families who fancy getting involved.

Registration and entry fees

Entry costs €5 for both the 5km race and the children’s events. The adult race entry fee is scheduled to rise to €10 from 23 November, so anyone planning to take part may want to register before then.

Registration is open until 22 December 2026 at 10.59pm Canary Islands time.

You can sign up online here: Register for the San Silvestre Golden Mile.

Whether you’re a regular runner or simply fancy finishing the year on a high, it’s a lively way to round off 2026 before the celebrations begin.
