Historic Maritim Hotel Reopens as Precise Resort Tenerife After €10 Million Transformation

Anyone who has spent time in Puerto de la Cruz will recognise the building immediately.

Perched on the cliffs overlooking the Atlantic, the old Maritim has been part of the skyline for decades.

Now it has a new name… and a serious makeover.

Maritim Becomes Precise Resort Tenerife

The former:

🏨 Maritim Hotel Tenerife

Has officially reopened as:

🌴 Precise Resort Tenerife

Following a major refurbishment involving:

💶 More than €10 million already invested

With a further:

💶 €1 million planned

As renovations continue through to:

📅 2027

A Big Refresh for One of Puerto’s Landmark Hotels

The reopening was officially presented on Friday with representatives from tourism, local institutions and businesses attending the launch.

The resort now offers:

🛏 153 rooms

With views across:

🌊 The Atlantic Ocean
🌿 La Orotava Valley
⛰ Mount Teide

Not a bad set of options really.

Spa, Pools and Atlantic-Inspired Dining

Facilities now include:

💆 Spa
🏊 Swimming pools
🎾 Sports courts

Alongside a food concept inspired by Tenerife’s historical Atlantic connections.

One of the more interesting details is the redesign of the gardens.

Gardens Inspired by Alexander von Humboldt

The resort’s outdoor areas have been redesigned around:

🌿 Alexander von Humboldt’s historical links with Tenerife

Adding a bit more local identity rather than simply planting another row of decorative palms and calling it a day.

Part of Puerto de la Cruz’s Tourism Renewal

Local and island officials described the reopening as part of the wider modernisation happening across Puerto de la Cruz.

The aim increasingly seems to be:

✔ Better quality tourism
✔ Modernisation
✔ Stronger links to local identity and landscape

Rather than simply adding more beds.

Which feels like a sensible direction.

Worth Knowing

Puerto has quietly been changing over the last few years.

Less flashy than the south perhaps…

But projects like this show the north is still investing heavily in its tourism future.

And bringing the old Maritim back to life feels like quite a symbolic one.
