September is looking pretty busy in Arona, with more than 20 cultural activities taking place across the municipality.
There’s a bit of everything on the programme, from traditional Canarian events and live music to theatre, exhibitions, workshops, poetry, reading activities and family events.
And importantly, it’s not all happening in one place.
Activities are spread across Los Cristianos, Las Galletas, El Fraile, Cabo Blanco, Valle San Lorenzo, La Camella, Parque La Reina and Arona Casco.
Noche Mágica and the Baile de Magos
One of the main events this month is Noche Mágica 2026, taking place on Friday 11 September in Arona Casco.
The event marks 20 years since the area was declared a Site of Cultural Interest, so expect a fair bit of history and tradition alongside the entertainment.
Then on Saturday 12 September, it’s the turn of Las Galletas, with the Baile de Magos de Las Galletas 2026 at Parque Urbano Paulino Suances Romín.
If you fancy going, there’s one important detail. You need to reserve a table by 20:00 on 11 September at the Las Galletas Civic Centre, and traditional Canarian dress is required.
So this probably isn’t the one to turn up to wearing your favourite holiday T-shirt.
Books, stories and family activities
The cultural programme gets going this Friday, 4 September, at the Cultural Centre in Los Cristianos with the presentation of ‘La casa de los perros sin collar’ by Beatriz Largo Díaz.
The crime novel is inspired by a real case involving animal abuse and illegal dog fighting that caused considerable shock across the Canary Islands.
There are also plenty of activities for families throughout the month.
‘Miércoles de Cuentos’ returns on 9 and 23 September, while ‘BebéCuento’ will take place in Los Cristianos on 15 September and Las Galletas on 22 September.
Theatre, music and poetry
Theatre gets a look-in too.
‘Piel con Piel’, by Laboratorio Escénico, will be performed in El Fraile on 23 September, followed by ‘Una para cinco’, by Habemus Teatro, in Cabo Blanco on 25 September as part of Otoño Teatro Arona 2026.
Las Galletas will also have a run of Flamenco & Poesía events, including ‘Entre Clásicos, AGAMA y Sal y Duende’ by Cristian Saucedo.
Then on 30 September, the Conciertos Íntimos series continues with Cristina Len performing at Casa La Bodega in Arona Casco.
Exhibitions, workshops and a bit of philosophy
There are several exhibitions planned during September, including ‘Del pirata Moreque y la sueca Flicka’. ‘Espiques Itinerantes’ in Los Cristianos, ‘La Lucha Canaria’ at Casa La Bodega and ‘Artistas de Arona’ in the town hall.
If exhibitions aren’t quite your thing, there are workshops and other activities to choose from.
The programme includes Cafés Filosóficos, a Canarian Folk Dance Workshop, a craft workshop for children, and a Mexican Paper Cutting Workshop run by Mónica Narváez as part of the 8th Tricontinental Craft Fair.
So, whether you fancy an evening of theatre, a bit of local history, some live music or simply something to keep the kids occupied, Arona has plenty going on this month.
