The IX Master Games will finish their season on Saturday, 12 September, with a rather nice way to end things: a yoga session on Las Vistas beach in Arona as the sun starts to go down.
The session is aimed at people aged 30 and over and will begin at 18:30, although registration and attendance checks open from 18:00. It will last around two hours, giving participants the chance to try something a little different from the usual sporting event.
Two types of yoga
The session will introduce participants to Hatha Yoga and Thai Yoga, with a gentle, beginner-friendly approach.
If you’ve never tried yoga before, this is intended as an introduction rather than anything particularly strenuous. It isn’t a rehabilitation therapy, though, so anyone with a health condition should mention it when registering.
There is only one requirement to take part: you need to be at least 30 years old.
You’ll also need comfortable sports clothing, your own yoga mat and a towel. Basically, nothing too complicated.
Registration is already open
Registration opened on 31 August at 08:00 and closes at 12:00 on Friday, 11 September. Places are allocated strictly in registration order.
If you book a place and then realise you can’t make it, there is also an important bit of housekeeping. You need to cancel your booking through the registration platform before the deadline. Otherwise, you won’t be able to take part in other IX Master Games events, as the organisers are trying to make sure unused places can be offered to people on the waiting list.
The yoga session takes place at Las Vistas beach in Arona, starting with attendance checks at 18:00 and the activity itself at 18:30.
A fairly civilised way to finish the Master Games, then. Yoga, the beach and the evening light… not a bad combination.
