Around 500 dancers are expected to take part in Tenerife Urban Dance 2026 when the popular urban dance competition returns to Puerto de la Cruz on Saturday 21 November.
Now in its 11th edition, the event will take place at the Miguel Ángel Díaz Molina Sports Pavilion from 10am to 2pm. Organised through the Tenerife Cabildo’s Tenerife Urbano programme, it is open to international participants and has become an established date on the island’s urban dance calendar.
The competition gives dancers the chance to show off their skills, creativity and choreography across five categories: children, junior, absolute, pairs and megacrew.
Five categories and plenty of talent
Performances will be judged by a panel with experience in the urban dance scene. They’ll be looking at expression, originality, technical difficulty, costumes and musical interpretation, as well as the overall impact of each performance, including coordination and the way the choreography comes together.
There’s more at stake than bragging rights. The top three competitors in each category will receive cash prizes, while the winners of each category will also earn registration for Urban Display 2027.
A special award, called Emociones, will recognise the group or pair that makes the strongest emotional impression on the audience. The winner will receive a trophy and diploma, with the decision made by the jury.
How to enter
Registration opened on Thursday 22 October and closes on Friday 13 November 2026.
Individuals and groups interested in taking part can register and check the competition rules through the official Tenerife Urban Dance website:
The event aims to encourage more young people to get involved in urban dance, offering a space to perform, meet other dancers and develop their artistic talents. With around 500 participants expected, Puerto de la Cruz should be in for a lively morning of music and movement.
