Granadilla de Abona Celebrates Romanian and Canarian Culture Through Music and Dance

Romanian and Canarian traditions will come together in San Isidro this Sunday, 25 October, for an evening of folk music, dance and cultural exchange.

The event, organised by Granadilla de Abona Council’s Culture Department in collaboration with the local Romanian House, will take place at the SIEC auditorium from 6pm.

The main attraction will be a performance by Romanian folk group Ansamblul “Oltenșii Slatinei”, featuring solo vocalist Simona Popescu. The group will showcase the music, dance and popular traditions of Romania.

Canarian culture will also be well represented, with the Raíces de Abona Folk School taking to the stage to celebrate the traditional folklore of Granadilla de Abona.

The event aims to bring the two communities together through their shared love of music and dance, creating an opportunity to discover different traditions and strengthen cultural ties.

It’s a chance to enjoy a little of Romania and the Canary Islands in the same evening, without having to go very far.

When: Sunday 25 October, 6pm
