If you’re looking for something cultural to do in Tenerife this week, there’s a decent mix on offer. Books, classical music, opera and theatre… so there’s really no excuse to spend the entire week arguing with the television remote.
The programme includes a new book presentation, a concert featuring musicians from the Berlin Philharmonic, an opera making its Spanish debut and performances from the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra and DeliriumTeatro.

Presentation of Libros cruzados

The second title in the Malpaís collection, Libros cruzados, will be presented with the participation of Antonio Tabares and Conchita Piña.
Entry is free, so it’s a good opportunity for anyone interested in literature to discover the latest addition to the collection.
Viola Fest

The programme continues with a Viola Fest concert featuring four soloists from the Berlin Philharmonic, performing alongside Macarena Pesutic.

Friday and Saturday: Opera makes its Spanish debut
The Golden Dragon

The Teatro Leal in La Laguna will host The Golden Dragon, a chamber opera by Péter Eötvös, as part of the Ópera en minúscula programme.
This will be the Spanish premiere of the production, offering audiences the chance to experience a work that is rather more adventurous than your standard night in front of the telly.

Antonio Tabares’ Libros cruzados, performed by DeliriumTeatro, returns to the stage for a further run.
Unfortunately, all tickets have already sold out. Which is good news for the theatre company, although not particularly useful if you were hoping to go.
Friday: Tenerife Symphony Orchestra
Quinta de Chaikovski

The Tenerife Symphony Orchestra will perform Quinta de Chaikovski, conducted by Ana María Patiño-Osorio, with Alexander Melnikov as piano soloist.
The concert offers an evening of classical music under the direction of Patiño-Osorio, with Melnikov taking the lead on piano.
