Ashotel brings AI Week for SMEs to Tenerife this September

Four practical sessions will take place from 21 to 24 September, covering AI legislation, business applications, content creation and real-world success stories

Artificial intelligence is becoming a much more practical issue for small businesses, and Ashotel’s Acelera pyme Office is organising four events in Tenerife this September to help companies and self-employed professionals get to grips with it.

The programme forms part of AI Week, an initiative promoted by Red.es and the Acelera pyme Offices, designed to show businesses how artificial intelligence can be used safely and effectively rather than simply leaving everyone to figure it out themselves.

AI legislation and business risks

The programme begins on 21 September at the Hotel Taburiente in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

The session will focus on the legal side of artificial intelligence, with contributions from Selva Orejón, legal consultant and managing director of OnBranding, alongside Daiana Lamela and Iván Afonso, founders of I+D Abogados.

The discussion will look at the legal framework surrounding AI and the responsibilities and risks businesses need to consider when adopting these technologies.

Practical AI applications in Adeje

On 22 September, the programme moves south to FIT Canarias in Adeje.

This session will focus on practical applications and real business use cases, with presentations from Jon Hernández, an AI adoption adviser, and Clara de Luna, who specialises in the Cultural and Creative Industries.

The idea is to move beyond the theory and look at where AI can actually be useful in everyday business.

AI and Canva for small businesses

The third session takes place on 23 September at the CDTCA in Adeje, with a particular focus on entrepreneurs and self-employed professionals.

Beatriz Vega, designer and founder of Studio Nova, will lead a practical seminar showing how AI can be incorporated into Canva to help with content and visual communication.

For small businesses without a design department lurking somewhere in the building, that could prove particularly useful.

Canary entrepreneurs share their experience

The programme concludes on 24 September at La Laguna Gran Hotel.

The final event will feature Elena Alcover, CEO and co-founder of DataGrowth, and Maica Amador, CEO and co-founder of Sparkling Tech Solutions.

Both will share their experiences as Canary Islands entrepreneurs and explain how they are using artificial intelligence and technology within their businesses.

Anyone interested in attending can register through the Acelera pyme Office website.
