Experts in legislation, technology strategy and design will meet in Tenerife from 21 to 24 September to show businesses and self-employed workers how to use AI safely and effectively
Artificial intelligence is moving beyond the tech industry and into the day-to-day reality of Tenerife’s small businesses.
From 21 to 24 September, the island will host four practical sessions aimed at SMEs and self-employed workers looking to understand how AI can be used in their businesses without getting tangled up in the legal, technical or creative side of things.
The programme forms part of the national AI Week for SMEs, promoted by the public entity Red.es and delivered in Tenerife through Ashotel’s Acelera pyme Office.
📅 Date: Monday 21 to Thursday 24 September 2026
📍 Area: Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Adeje and La Laguna
Starting with the legal side
The programme opens on 21 September at the Hotel Taburiente in Santa Cruz de Tenerife with a session entitled AI Legal Framework: Rules of the Game, Risks and Compliance.
The session will look at the new European legal framework surrounding artificial intelligence, as well as the responsibilities businesses face when using these tools professionally.
Speakers include Selva Orejón, judicial expert and managing director of OnBranding, together with lawyers Daiana Lamela and Iván Afonso, co-founders of I+D Abogados.
From AI strategy to actually using it
The programme moves south to FIT Canarias in Adeje on 22 September.
The session, Applied AI: From Strategy to Real Execution, is aimed at businesses that have heard plenty about AI but perhaps haven’t quite got round to working out what to do with it.
The speakers will include technology communicator and trainer Jon Hernández, Jotaypunto, director of neQia Innovation Hub, and Clara de Luna, an adviser specialising in the impact of AI on the creative and cultural industries.
The focus will be on practical applications and deciding where AI can actually make a difference to a business.
A practical session on content creation
On 23 September, the programme returns to Adeje for a more hands-on session at the Open Space of the Centro de Desarrollo Turístico Costa Adeje (CDTCA).
This workshop will focus on Canva and content creation, showing professionals and small businesses how to generate ideas and improve their visual communication without needing advanced design skills.
The session will be led by Beatriz Vega, designer and founder of Studio Nova.
Young entrepreneurs put AI into practice
The final session takes place on 24 September at La Laguna Gran Hotel.
This time, the focus will be on local entrepreneurial talent, with Elena Alcover, founder of DataGrowth, and Maica Amador, founder of Sparkling Tech Solutions, explaining how they are using artificial intelligence, data analysis and immersive technologies to develop new business models.
Businesses and self-employed workers interested in attending any of the sessions can register through the official Ashotel Acelera pyme Office website.
The four-day programme forms part of the wider AI Week for SMEs, running from 20 to 24 September through the national network of Acelera pyme Offices.
For Tenerife’s smaller businesses, the useful bit is that this isn’t simply another conference about how AI is going to change everything. The sessions are designed around the rather more practical question of what you can actually do with it.
