Three Free Guided Routes to Discover the History and Nature of La Laguna

If you’re looking to explore a different side of La Laguna, the municipality is offering a series of free guided walks throughout August and September, combining history, nature and local heritage.

The programme features three themed experiences that showcase some of the area’s most scenic and culturally significant locations, giving participants the chance to discover La Laguna from a fresh perspective.

Route of the Water in Bajamar

Returning for its third edition, the Route of the Water explores some of Bajamar’s best-known landmarks.

The guided walk includes visits to:

  • The Hermitage of San Juan
  • The Bajamar natural swimming pools
  • The Bajamar Palm Grove (Palmeral de Bajamar)

Along the way, participants will learn about the area’s history, water heritage and coastal landscape.

Sea, Music and Mountains in Punta del Hidalgo

Also returning is the Sea, Music and Mountains route through Punta del Hidalgo.

This guided walk focuses on the close relationship between the village, the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding landscape, while also highlighting its cultural heritage and local traditions.

Turismo en Positivo

Completing the programme is Turismo en Positivo, an interpretive walking experience that combines:

  • Local history and heritage
  • Biodiversity
  • Environmental awareness
  • Local gastronomy

The initiative aims to encourage responsible tourism while helping participants better understand the natural and cultural richness of the municipality.

How to Take Part

All guided walks are free of charge, but advance registration is required.

Bookings open two weeks before each scheduled route, and places are expected to be limited.

The programme offers residents and visitors an excellent opportunity to explore some of La Laguna’s most beautiful landscapes while learning more about the municipality’s history, traditions and natural environment.
