The Economic and Social Forum of La Laguna will hold its second ordinary plenary session of 2026 on Wednesday, 24 June, at 5:30pm in the Glass Hall of the Ex-Convent of Santo Domingo.
The meeting will focus on reviewing the Forum’s work during the first half of the year, monitoring ongoing projects, ratifying the proposal for the Pedro Molina Ramos Award 2026, and beginning the renewal process for the organisation’s next term covering 2026-2030.
One of the key agenda items will be a review of initiatives launched since the Forum approved its annual programme earlier this year. Members will assess current projects, discuss progress made so far, and outline priorities for the remainder of 2026.
The session will also include the ratification of the proposed recipient of the Pedro Molina Ramos Award 2026, a distinction that recognises individuals, organisations, or groups that have made significant contributions to the agricultural and rural sector in La Laguna. Last year’s award was presented to University of La Laguna researcher and lecturer Wladimiro Rodríguez Brito.
Another important topic will be the renewal of the Forum for the 2026-2030 period, with preparations beginning to update the composition of this advisory body, which brings together representatives from economic, social, cultural, and neighbourhood organisations across the municipality.
The Economic and Social Forum plays an important role in encouraging dialogue between local institutions and civil society, helping to shape discussions on issues affecting La Laguna, including economic development, community participation, environmental matters, and social wellbeing.
