Some places play it safe…
This one doesn’t… not quite.
The Spot
Cumbres de Abona (Cruz de Tea)
📍 Granadilla de Abona
A well-known place in the south… but with its own way of doing things.
What They Do Differently
It’s still Canarian food…
Just not exactly how you expect it.
- Chicharrones with gofio and mojo to start
- Pata asada… but with a slightly different flavour profile
- Escaldón with red onion and dried figs
- Solomillo with caramelised onion and chips
Same base dishes… just given a bit of a twist.
One of Their Standouts
A popular plate with:
- Bread, tomato, cheese and bacon
Simple idea… but one people keep ordering.
Desserts
They don’t play it too safe here either.
- Pumpkin quesillo
Not for everyone… but if you like it, you’ll probably rate it.
The Setup
- Large dining room + terrace
- Private parking (which helps)
- Around 4.4⭐ on Google
Opening Hours
🕐 Wednesday to Sunday: 11:00 – 23:00
❌ Closed Monday & Tuesday
Worth Knowing
It’s not trying to reinvent Canarian food…
Just nudging it slightly in a different direction.
Sometimes that’s all it takes.
