Where to Donate Blood This Week in South Tenerife

Residents and visitors in south Tenerife will have several opportunities to donate blood this week as the Canary Islands Blood Donation and Haemotherapy Service (Dirección General de Hemodonación y Hemoterapia) continues its mobile donation campaign across Granadilla de Abona.

The initiative will run until Friday 7 August, helping to maintain blood supplies for hospitals throughout the Canary Islands.

Mobile Blood Donation Schedule

Wednesday 5 August

Location: Beside the Almer Building, near the Department of Education, Granadilla de Abona

Opening hours:

  • 10:45 am to 1:30 pm
  • 5:15 pm to 8:15 pm

Thursday 6 August

Plaza de la Cultura, San Isidro

  • 10:45 am to 12:45 pm

Calle Evaristo Gómez González, El Médano

  • 5:15 pm to 8:30 pm

Friday 7 August

  • 10:45 am to 1:30 pm
  • 5:15 pm to 8:00 pm

Who Can Donate?

To donate blood, you must:

  • Be between 18 and 65 years old
  • Be under 60 if donating for the first time
  • Weigh more than 50 kg
  • Be in good general health
  • Not be pregnant

Before donating, healthcare staff will carry out a brief health assessment to ensure it is safe for you to give blood.

  • Hospiten Bellevue, Puerto de la Cruz (appointment required)
  • Hospital San Juan de Dios, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays)
