What’s On in Tenerife This Week? Dance, Film Music and Star Wars at the Auditorio

If you’re looking for something a bit different to do this week in Tenerife, the Auditorio has a cracking line-up. Whether you’re into dance, film music or you’re one of those people who still knows every line from Star Wars, there’s something worth taking a look at.

Tuesday, 7.30pm

Ima & Wild Poetry

The Göteborg Opera Dance Company brings together two contemporary dance performances featuring choreography by Sharon Eyal and Hofesh Shechter. If you enjoy modern dance, this promises to be an excellent evening.

Thursday, 7.00pm

John Williams Reimagined

Part of this year’s FIMUCITÉ festival, this concert celebrates the music of one of the greatest film composers ever. Produced by Robert Townson, it’s already sold out, which isn’t much of a surprise.

Friday & Saturday, 7.00pm

Star Wars: A New Hope in Concert

This is probably the standout event of the week.

The original 1977 Star Wars film will be shown on the big screen while the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra performs the Oscar-winning soundtrack live under the direction of Eímear Noone.

If you’re a Star Wars fan, it doesn’t get much better than that.

Sunday, 7.00pm

FIMUCITÉ 20 Red Carpet Gala

The festival finishes with its closing gala concert.

Like Thursday’s performance, tickets have already gone, which says a lot about how popular FIMUCITÉ has become over the years.

The Auditorio is one of those places that’s easy to overlook if you spend most of your time in the south of the island, but it regularly hosts some fantastic events. If you’re looking for something different from the usual night out, it’s well worth keeping an eye on their programme.
