Some places feel more like a countryside escape than a restaurant…
This is one of them.
The Spot
📍 Guachinche Finca El Pino
La Orotava
Hidden among gardens, terraces and farmland in the north of Tenerife.
The Atmosphere
Rustic is probably putting it mildly…
Outdoor spaces, greenery everywhere, and that typical guachinche feel where nobody’s in a rush.
According to @guachinchesmodernos:
“It’s one of the guachinches we keep going back to and never get tired of.”
That usually says enough.
What People Order
The menu sticks closely to homemade Canarian cooking.
Some of the standouts:
- House ensaladilla with croquettes
- House beans (“habichuelas”)
- Huevos rotos with chorizo
- Bichillo with natural potatoes
And yes… grilled meat is very much the main attraction here.
Desserts Worth Saving Space For
The homemade desserts get plenty of attention too:
- Chocolate flan
- Creamy yoghurt dessert with mango and almonds
Not exactly diet food… but nobody’s pretending otherwise.
Worth Knowing
⚠️ They strongly recommend booking ahead.
Apparently turning up hopefully at the weekend isn’t the best strategy.
Opening Hours
🕐 Friday & Saturday

The Verdict
Nature, grilled meat, homemade desserts and wine…
Pretty much the standard recipe for a successful Tenerife guachinche.
And this one seems to have nailed it.
