Migration sits right at the centre of the Canary Islands leg of the journey.

Much of the programme in Tenerife revolves around:

  • Social organisations
  • Meetings with communities linked to integration work

📍 Las Raíces

The Pope will meet migrants at the reception centre in Las Raíces.

📍 Plaza del Cristo, La Laguna

Around 1,500 people are expected for a gathering focused on migration and integration projects.

  • La Restinga migrant centre

Through the Streets of La Laguna

León XIV will travel through Calle Viana in a small vehicle, where elderly residents and people with illnesses are expected to line the route.

He’ll then stop briefly at the Bishop’s residence in San Agustín.

Papamóvil Through Santa Cruz

The Pope then heads to Santa Cruz, travelling through several central streets including:

  • Plaza Weyler
  • Méndez Núñez
  • Plaza de España
  • Avenida de Anaga

Before arriving at the port.

Final Mass at the Port

The closing mass of the Pope’s Spain visit will take place in the port area of Santa Cruz.

Departure
