Tenerife’s Water Levels Sitting at 82%… Quietly Good News Before Summer

Not the most exciting headline…

But probably one of the more important ones.

Where Things Stand

Tenerife’s reservoirs are currently at around 82% capacity.

That’s just over 4 million cubic metres of water stored.

Why It Matters

Heading into May… and then summer…

That’s exactly where you want things to be.

  • Agriculture stays stable
  • Less pressure during peak demand
  • Fewer surprises if it stays dry

What’s Behind It

A mix of:

  • Decent weather
  • Better water management
  • Ongoing transfers and storage planning

Not luck alone… which makes a difference.

North vs South

The north is in a very strong position:

  • Around 83.8% full
  • Several reservoirs already at 100%

The south is improving too:

  • Noticeable increase this month
  • Some reservoirs close to full again

Still a gap… but moving the right way.

The Trend

There’s been a steady increase through April…

Not huge, but consistent.

And that’s usually what you want to see.

Worth Knowing

Water only becomes a topic when there’s a shortage…

So when things are sitting comfortably like this, it tends to go unnoticed.

But heading into summer…

This is about as positive as it gets.
