According to a new international study, Tenerife South Airport is giving travellers one of the best first impressions in Europe, having been named Spain’s highest-rated airport and the third best in Europe for summer travel.
The ranking, compiled by passenger rights platform AirAdvisor, highlights the airport’s strong performance for punctuality, passenger satisfaction and overall travel experience.
Among Europe’s Best
Tenerife South secured third place in the European rankings with an overall score of 14.81 points, finishing behind only London Heathrow and Dublin Airport.
It also ranked ahead of several major international hubs, including:
- Los Angeles International Airport
- Rome Fiumicino
- Amsterdam Schiphol
- Athens International Airport
Spain was the best-performing country overall, with four airports finishing in the top twelve and two making the top five.

The AirAdvisor study combined several factors to measure the overall passenger experience.

- Transport links between the airport and nearby towns
- Distance from the airport to the city
- Shopping and passenger facilities
- Skytrax airport ratings
Punctuality carried the greatest weight in the rankings, accounting for 40% of the overall score.
During 2025, around 75% of flights departing Tenerife South left on time, helping the airport secure its high position.
