Tenerife Emprende is back for its second edition, and it’s clearly trying to move things up a level.
Not just cooking… actual business, ideas, and how the whole thing grows.

They’re bringing everyone into the same room to talk, share ideas, and figure out where things are heading.

- Local identity (keeping things Canarian, not generic)
- Innovation (adapting to how people actually eat and travel now)
- Business opportunities (because it still has to make money at the end of the day)
There’s a mix of talks, roundtables, and short presentations from people already doing interesting things on the island.
Real Names, Not Just Talk
You’ve got chefs, winemakers, hotel managers… people actually working in it day to day.
Not just theory.
There’s even a quick-fire format where different projects get five minutes each to pitch what they’re doing… which usually ends up being one of the more interesting parts.
Why It Matters
Tenerife leans heavily on tourism… everyone knows that.
But food is becoming a bigger part of the experience.
Done properly, it keeps money on the island, supports local producers, and gives people a reason to come back.
Done badly… it just turns into the same menus you see everywhere else.
The Bigger Picture
They’ve been working with the Basque Culinary Center on this for a while now… trying to raise standards across the board.
Training, ideas, pushing quality up.
It’s not instant, but you can see where it’s going.
