Tenerife Craft Fair Welcomes More Than 200 Artisans, With Mexico in the Spotlight

More than 200 artisans from Europe, Africa and the Americas will gather in Tenerife this month as the Tricontinental Craft Fair returns for its eighth edition, with Mexico taking centre stage as this year’s guest country.

The fair runs from 24 October to 2 November at the Recinto Ferial de Tenerife in Santa Cruz, bringing together traditional crafts, fashion, music and food from different cultures.

It’s become one of Spain’s major events celebrating craft traditions from Ibero-America, Africa and southern Europe, offering artisans the chance to showcase their work and visitors the opportunity to discover techniques and traditions from around the world.

Mexico takes centre stage

The fair opens on 24 October at 11:30am with Viva México, a performance directed by Juan Carlos Armas and Mauro Fariña.

Mexican culture will feature throughout the event, with musical performances planned across the week. The programme concludes on 2 November with a performance by La Parranda Chasnera.

There will also be two fashion shows. The first, on 26 October, focuses on historical urban clothing, while the second, on 27 October, showcases artisanal fashion and accessories.

Crafts, food and activities for all ages

Alongside the artisan stalls, visitors can expect food from different countries, family-friendly activities and opportunities to hear directly from the craftspeople about their work and experience.

The fair aims to do more than sell handmade products. It provides a meeting point for different cultures, helping keep traditional skills alive while giving visitors a glimpse into the stories and techniques behind the finished pieces.

With more than 200 artisans taking part, there should be plenty to browse, whether you’re looking for something unusual for the home, a handmade accessory or simply an interesting way to spend a few hours.

The event takes place at the Recinto Ferial de Tenerife in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, North Tenerife, from 24 October to 2 November.
