Tegueste Celebrates Canary Islands Day with Culture, Food and Local Flavours 🇮🇨

Tegueste is getting ready for Canary Islands Day with a programme running from 28 to 31 May, bringing together culture, gastronomy, local business and tradition.

The municipality has put together several days of activities designed to celebrate Canarian identity while giving a boost to local commerce and products.

And let’s be honest… Tegueste usually does this sort of thing well.

Culture, Local Products and Community

The programme opens with:

• Presentation of “Hazañas Silenciadas” by Raquel Perdomo
• The performance “Piel con piel” by Laboratorio Escénico

Alongside this, visitors can enjoy:

• Children’s activities
• Commercial promotion events
• Local product experiences
• Activities with GMR Canarias and Volcanic Xperience

A mix of culture and commerce… which is fairly typical of Tegueste really.

Celebrating Local Identity

Mayor Norberto Padilla highlighted the importance of Canary Islands Day as a moment to strengthen local identity and community ties.

His view was simple:

“Tegueste is tradition, culture and community.”

Meanwhile, Local Development and Commerce Councillor Maura Martel said the programme was designed to bring together:

• Culture
• Commerce
• Local products

All under the same celebration.

Tegueste Does Roots Properly

Some towns celebrate Canary Islands Day with one event.

Tegueste tends to turn it into several days.

Food, culture, local business, traditions…

Pretty much everything the municipality is known for.
