International Dance Performance La Quijá Comes to Tenerife on 7 July 2026

The MAPAS Festival 2026 continues its programme of international performing arts with La Quijá, a contemporary dance production by acclaimed choreographer Paloma Muñoz, arriving at the Auditorio de Tenerife’s Symphony Hall on 7 July at 7:30pm.

Combining movement, sound and voice, the performance explores the body as a space of connection, expression and shared experience, creating an immersive journey for audiences.

A Powerful Fusion of Dance and Sound

At the heart of La Quijá is an intricate acoustic landscape created by composer and sound designer Alejandro González da Rocha, with collaboration from Ramon Balagué and artistic and vocal contributions from Paco Contreras (Niño de Elche).

This carefully crafted sound architecture guides the rhythm and energy of ten performers, whose movements unfold across a stage environment designed by Cube.bz.

The result is a work that blends choreography, music and voice into a collective physical experience, inviting audiences to reflect on movement from a deeply human perspective.

Part of MAPAS 2026

The performance forms part of MAPAS 2026, the international arts market and festival that brings leading contemporary dance, theatre and music productions to Tenerife each year.

The festival showcases artists and companies from around the world while strengthening cultural connections between Europe, Africa and Latin America.
