Young people in Santa Cruz de Tenerife can enjoy a packed programme of free activities throughout August, including camping in Anaga, pottery workshops, gaming sessions, boat trips and beach events as part of the city’s Distrito Joven initiative.
All activities are free of charge, although places are limited and advance registration is required.
Creative Workshops and Outdoor Adventures
The programme began on 1 August with Mañaneo Joven at Las Teresitas Beach, featuring creative workshops, sports, crafts and group activities.
From 4 to 6 August, with an additional session on 11 August, the Lázaro Siluto Youth Centre will host pottery sculpture workshops where participants can learn basic clay modelling techniques and create their own pieces.
On 7 August, young people can join a boat excursion to Antequera, offering the chance to explore one of Santa Cruz’s most scenic coastal areas.
Camping in Anaga
One of the highlights takes place on 12 and 13 August, when participants will enjoy a two-day camping and hiking experience in the Anaga Rural Park.
The activity combines guided walks, environmental education and group activities while introducing participants to one of Tenerife’s most important natural landscapes.
Gaming and Beach Activities
Gaming enthusiasts can take part in Total Gaming on 18, 19, 20, 25 and 26 August at the Mascareño Youth Centre.
The sessions include strategy games, team challenges and digital entertainment designed to encourage cooperation and teamwork.
On 21 August, Las Teresitas will once again host Tardeo Joven, featuring board games, Canarian sports, painting workshops and social activities.
Closing with Nature
The programme concludes on 29 August with a guided walk through El Palmeral de Anaga, giving participants the opportunity to discover the area’s biodiversity while learning about environmental conservation.
Santa Cruz City Council says the initiative aims to provide young people with safe, healthy and engaging activities throughout the summer, combining creativity, sport, nature and technology.
