El Guachinche in La Laguna Serving XL Seafood and Meat Platters Big Enough for Five People

Content creators Joana and Jonay, known for their popular Guachinches Modernos social media channel, have discovered another Tenerife dining spot where portion sizes are anything but modest.

Their latest stop took them to El Guachinche del Sheriff in Valle Tabares, La Laguna, where a meal intended for a few quickly turned into a feast that left them questioning whether they had ordered enough people rather than enough food.

Starting Small… Or So They Thought

To begin their visit, the pair ordered a selection of traditional dishes:

• Escaldón
• Stuffed mushrooms
• Goat meat

The idea, they joked, was to avoid filling up too quickly before trying the restaurant’s signature dishes.

That plan didn’t last long.

The XL Platters Steal the Show

The highlight of the visit came when two enormous sharing platters arrived at the table.

One focused on seafood, while the other was dedicated entirely to meat.

Seafood XL Platter

The seafood platter included:

• Squid
• Octopus
• Cuttlefish
• King prawns
• Fried fish strips
• Peppers
• Chips
• Canarian wrinkled potatoes

The sheer size of the platter prompted an immediate reaction from the pair, who struggled to believe the amount of food placed in front of them.

Meat XL Platter

The meat option proved equally impressive, featuring:

• Pork ribs
• Secreto ibérico
• Beef steak
• Chicken breast
• Chistorra sausage
• Traditional sausages
• A generous serving of chips

According to the content creators, a single platter could comfortably feed four or five people.

Prices

The sharing platters are priced at:

• Seafood XL Platter: €65.50
• Meat XL Platter: €55.90

Given the quantity served, the platters are clearly designed for groups rather than solo diners.
