Barranco Las Lajas Gets Ready for Its Rosario Festivities

Barranco Las Lajas in Tacoronte is getting ready for several days of celebrations in honour of Nuestra Señora del Rosario, with the festivities running from Wednesday 7 to Monday 12 October.

The programme brings together a mixture of music, religion, Canarian folklore, local crafts, traditional games and activities for children, with plenty of involvement from residents and local groups.

Among the names taking part are Primera Marcha and Pepe Benavente, alongside other performers and community groups.

The big day in Barranco Las Lajas

One of the main events takes place on Sunday 11 October, with the Paseo Romero de Santo Domingo.

The romería will travel from San Isidro to Plaza de Barranco Las Lajas, followed by a traditional Canarian lunch for the rondallas and other participants.

Later that evening, at 7:30pm, there will be a religious service followed by the procession along its traditional route.

The procession will be accompanied by the AM Santa Cecilia Music Band, adding the usual musical backdrop to one of the key religious moments of the celebrations.

The programme has been organised by the Barranco Las Lajas 2026 Festivities Committee, with support from Tacoronte Town Hall.

It’s also very much a local effort, with residents, community groups and people involved in Tacoronte’s cultural and festive life helping to put the programme together.

Which is probably how these things should be. A fiesta isn’t much of a fiesta if the whole neighbourhood isn’t involved.
