Arona is getting ready for nearly two weeks of celebrations, with the town centre hosting its Main Fiestas from 25 September to 7 October 2026.
Held in honour of the Santísimo Cristo de la Salud and Nuestra Señora del Rosario, the programme brings together religious traditions, live music, comedy, children’s activities, sport and plenty of opportunities to get out and enjoy yourself.
The musical line-up includes Falete, Shaila Dúrcal and Edwin Rivera, alongside queen galas, orchestras and the popular Arona en Tradiciones celebration.
The Opening Day: 25 September
The festivities officially begin on Friday 25 September at midday, with church bells and fireworks announcing the start of the celebrations.
Religious events continue throughout the afternoon, followed by the official proclamation at 20:00 in Plaza del Santísimo Cristo de la Salud.
This year’s opening speech will be delivered by Juan Alejandro Sierra González, alongside the presentation of the candidates for the Main Fiestas Queen. The event will be hosted by Daida Reyes and feature live music from José Manuel Ramos.
Music, Exhibitions and a Latin Night
Saturday 26 September starts with the opening of two exhibitions at the town hall:
- A collective exhibition of paintings and sculptures by artists from Arona.
- Arona a través del tiempo, an audiovisual look at the Main Fiestas from 1996 to the present, presented by José Ramón Gómez.
The exhibitions will remain open until 30 October, Monday to Friday in the morning.
Later in the afternoon, the Fernando Pérez Municipal Football Ground will host the second Veterans’ Football Triangular, featuring Veteranos AT. Arona, Sporting San José Veteranos and C.F.A. Los Pintores.
The evening then moves into Latin territory, with Ruta Salsera, a Frankie Ruiz tribute by Maquinaria Band and a headline performance from Edwin Rivera.
On Sunday 27 September, Falete takes to the stage at 20:00 with his Por la vida show, accompanied by more than ten musicians.
Children’s Activities and Queen Galas
Monday 28 September is dedicated to younger residents, with inflatables and workshops during the afternoon, followed by a princesses and superheroes show in the evening.
The Children’s Queen gala, titled ¡Deseo volver a jugar!, takes place on Tuesday 29 September. The event includes performances from the cultural department’s choreographic groups, Ballet Beanky Infantil and clown Cañita.
Wednesday 30 September brings the Arraigo TV gala, where the Municipal Queen of the Seniors will be chosen. The evening includes comedy from Cristito and music by Mariachi San Miguel, led by Goyo Tavío.
Then comes one of the major nights of the programme.
On Thursday 1 October, the Studio 54, la Noche Eterna gala will take inspiration from the famous New York nightclub while crowning the Main Fiestas Queen of Arona.
The headline performance will come from Shaila Dúrcal.
Comedy, Dancing and Arona en Tradiciones
Friday 2 October features a night of comedy with Jorge Ávila and Kike Pérez, followed by a late-night dance with orchestras Wamampy and Sabrosa.
Saturday 3 October is dedicated to Arona en Tradiciones, one of the main highlights of the celebrations.
Starting at midday, the town centre will host a full day of Canarian culture, including:
- Traditional gastronomy
- Craft markets and exhibitions
- Traditional games and sports
- Parrandas and live performances
- Tastings
- Theatre and music
- Activities for all ages
Free transport will be available from the different areas of the municipality.
The same day also includes a Seniors’ Day at Colegio Óscar Domínguez, followed by an evening dance with Sensación Gomera and Caracas.
4 October: Family Fun and Religious Tradition
Sunday 4 October begins with Children’s Day at the Fernando Pérez Municipal Football Ground, featuring water inflatables, a foam party and a children’s mini disco.
A traditional dominoes and envite tournament will take place in the main square from midday.
The afternoon focuses on the celebrations for Nuestra Señora del Rosario, including a solemn mass and procession accompanied by the Arona Music Band. The A.F. Verodal will provide a lyrical and floral offering.
The evening finishes with music from Tropin and Malibú.
5 October: The Main Day of the Celebrations
Monday 5 October is the central day of the Main Fiestas, beginning early with the Diana Floreada at 07:00, followed by church bells announcing the main celebration in honour of the Santísimo Cristo de la Salud.
The programme includes a solemn mass, the traditional besapié and further religious services during the afternoon.
The main event is the Magna Procession at 19:30, accompanied by the Arona Music Band and the San Juan Bautista brass and drum band.
Musical offerings during the procession will feature Chago Melián, Isabel González and A.F. Verodal, with vocals from Iván Quintana and Ayla Rodríguez.
Fireworks will also form part of the evening, before the celebrations continue with a dance featuring Los Ideales.
The Final Days
The programme continues on Tuesday 6 October with a mass remembering residents who have passed away during the previous year.
Families can also enjoy El concierto de Superabuela, while football fans have the 58th edition of the friendly match between C.D. Furia Arona and C.D.A. El Médano C.F. at 20:30.
The festivities close on Wednesday 7 October with the sixth Regional Women’s Football Tournament, featuring C.D. Furia Arona and C.D.F. Alcalá.
