Arafo is preparing for one of the most colourful and traditional days of its annual festivities as the Romería de San Agustín approaches.
And if you want to take part properly but don’t happen to have a traditional Canarian outfit hanging in the wardrobe, there will be the chance to rent one.
Traditional costumes available to hire
Costume hire will take place at the Hall of the Auditorio Juan Carlos I in Arafo on:
Friday 28 August
10:00 to 20:00
Saturday 29 August
10:00 to 16:00
A complete outfit costs:
- Adults: €25
- Children: €15
The organisers are also reminding everyone that wearing traditional dress is about more than simply putting on a costume.
The message is clear: respect, care for and celebrate Canarian identity and traditions.
The Romería de San Agustín is set to bring colour, music and plenty of local spirit to Arafo as part of the town’s 2026 patron saint festivities.
