Adeje Pushes Mother’s Day Campaign… A Simple Nudge to Support Local Shops

Adeje’s doing what more places probably should… giving local businesses a bit of a push ahead of Mother’s Day.

They’ve launched a campaign called “Mom, My Root and Guide”… not the catchiest name in the world, but the idea behind it makes sense.

How It Works

Local businesses can sign up until April 20th.

Then from April 23 to May 3, customers who spend €15 or more will get a small free gift.

Nothing complicated.

The gifts are provided centrally, and shops just hand them out.

Why They’re Doing It

It’s basically about getting people to think twice before defaulting to Amazon or big chains.

Spend locally, keep money in the area, support smaller businesses… all the usual, but still relevant.

And to be fair, Adeje does have a lot of small shops that rely on this kind of thing.

The Reality

These campaigns don’t change everything overnight.

But they do help.

Even a small shift in where people spend can make a difference to independent businesses… especially outside the peak tourist months.

Worth Paying Attention?

If you’re in Adeje anyway, it’s an easy win.

Buy something you were probably going to buy anyway… and support a local shop while you’re at it.

Not groundbreaking… but sensible.
