Los Realejos Misterioso Returns With Free Halloween Events, Talks and Cemetery Concerts

If you fancy something a little different in the run-up to Halloween, Los Realejos Misterioso is back with another programme of free cultural events exploring mystery, folklore, the supernatural and Canary Islands traditions surrounding the Day of the Dead.

Organised by Los Realejos Council, the 2026 programme includes mystery walks, talks, book presentations and live music in some rather atmospheric locations.

The mystery walks, called El Camino de las Vueltas, take place on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October at 5pm. Unfortunately, both are already fully booked, so you’ll need to look at the other events if you want to join in.

Talks, books and the unexplained

From Monday 26 October, the programme moves to Casa de La Parra, with events starting at 8pm each evening.

Here’s what’s coming up:

  • Monday 26 October: Lo que no se cuenta 4.0, a discussion moderated by journalist and researcher Gregorio González.
  • Tuesday 27 October: Writer Ariadna Criado García presents her book Colón, el mensajero de Dios.
  • Wednesday 28 October: Art historian Juan Alejandro Lorenzo Lima explores funeral imagery and post-mortem portraits in the Canary Islands during the Old Regime.
  • Thursday 29 October: Anthropologist Grecy Pérez Amores discusses ritual animals, environmental justice and contemporary religious practices.
  • Friday 30 October: Aldo Linares and Laura Serrano, members of paranormal research group HEPTA, present La sensibilidad como puente.

The subjects range from historical beliefs and funeral traditions to paranormal investigations. Not exactly your standard week of evening entertainment.

Music among the gravestones

The programme finishes on Saturday 31 October with three performances by Pentafonías Brass Quintet in local cemeteries.

The concerts are scheduled as follows:

  • 4:30pm: San Antonio Cemetery, Icod el Alto
  • 5:30pm: San Agustín Cemetery, El Mocán, Realejo Alto
  • 7pm: San Francisco Cemetery, Realejo Bajo

It’s an unusual setting for live music, but one that fits the atmosphere of the season rather well.

All events are free, although the mystery walks are fully booked.

Los Realejos is in North Tenerife, making this a good option for anyone interested in local history, folklore and a slightly different take on Halloween.
