Tenerife’s New Opera Season: Seven Productions, Seven Very Different Stories

There’s something quite nice about the idea behind the new opera season. Instead of rushing around, checking your phone every five minutes and generally doing too much of everything, the idea is to sit down, switch off for a couple of hours and actually experience something live.

The 2026-27 season brings together seven productions, covering everything from Mozart and Wagner to Handel, Britten and contemporary Spanish opera.

The programme includes:

🎂 Le nozze di Figaro, by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
11, 13, 15 and 17 October 2026

🦢 Lohengrin, by Richard Wagner
15, 18 and 21 November 2026

🇲🇽 Tránsito, by Jesús Torres
4 and 5 December 2026

⚔️ Orlando, by George Frideric Handel
21 and 23 January 2027

👑 Hamlet, by Ambroise Thomas
7, 9, 11 and 13 March 2027

🎖️ Owen Wingrave, by Benjamin Britten
16 and 17 April 2027

👬 El orgullo de quererte, by Javier Carmena
25, 26 and 27 June 2027

The season describes the seven productions as a journey through some of the emotions that define us, from love and guilt to obsession and freedom.

And if you fancy making a proper night of it rather than trying to squeeze culture in between checking emails and scrolling through your phone, season tickets are now available.
