Craig David (can you say it without saying Craaaaiiig Deved? ) turning up in Tenerife…not exactly an everyday thing.
R&B festival lands in Santa Cruz
There’s a new one-day event called R&B Nation coming on 9 May, and they’ve gone straight in with a proper headline act.
Craig David is top of the bill.
It’s being held at the Anexo Palmetum…open-air, right by the seafront in Santa Cruz. Good location, bit of space, and not the usual squeezed-in venue.
More than just a headline name
It’s not just a case of one big act carrying the whole thing.
Deejay Dario is on the lineup…one of the more recognised names locally and usually guarantees a decent atmosphere.
You’ve also got DJ Dreemz and Dailos MB doing a special set, so there’s a mix of established and up-and-coming talent.
Feels like they’re actually trying to build something rather than just put on a one-off.
The TS5 set…a bit different
Craig David’s bringing his TS5 show, which is a mix of DJing and live vocals.
It’s not just him standing there singing a few songs and disappearing.
There’s more energy to it…older tracks, newer stuff, and a bit of interaction with the crowd. Works well outdoors, especially in a setting like this.
Testing the waters a bit
The aim is to push more of an R&B and urban music scene in Tenerife.
Which is already there…just not always front and centre.
This feels like one of those events that could go either way. If people turn up, it grows. If not, it quietly disappears and that’s the end of it.
Tickets are already out
Tickets are on sale now through FOURVENUES.
No surprises there…everything goes through platforms these days.
If it’s your sort of thing, probably not one to leave until the last minute.
The reality is
People still say Tenerife nightlife is all the same.
Tribute acts, cover bands, and whatever’s on down the strip.
But every now and then something different comes along.
The only real question is whether people actually show up for it.
