Hotel Botánico Named Best Hotel in Tenerife for 2025

If you’ve spent any time around Tenerife, you’ll have heard of the Hotel Botánico.

It’s one of those places that’s been around for years… and quietly kept its reputation without needing to shout about it too much.

Now it’s been named Best Hotel in Tenerife for 2025 by a big Nordic travel group.

Which, to be fair, isn’t nothing.

Why this one keeps coming up

The Nordic market has always been big for Tenerife… Swedes, Norwegians, Danes, Finns… they’ve been coming here for years.

And they don’t tend to mess about when it comes to hotels.

So when a group that sends over a million travellers a year puts you at the top, it usually means the place is doing something right… consistently.

Not just one good season.

It’s had a proper upgrade

They’ve also gone through another round of renovations recently… third one since the pandemic, apparently.

Rooms, suites, restaurants, event spaces… all brought up to date.

But importantly, they haven’t ripped the soul out of it.

That’s usually where places go wrong… they modernise everything and end up feeling like every other hotel.

From what I’ve seen, they’ve kept the gardens, the space, and that slightly calmer feel you don’t always get in newer places.

It’s not just about the rooms

The spa is a big part of it.

The Oriental Spa Garden gets mentioned a lot, and not just in Tenerife… it’s been rated as one of the better hotel spas in Europe more than once.

Thermal circuits, pools, treatments… all the things you’d expect, but done properly.

If you’re into that sort of thing, it’s probably half the reason you’d book.

The kind of place people go to disappear for a bit

Over the years it’s turned into a bit of a go-to for people who want privacy.

You get a mix of regular guests, long stays, and the occasional well-known face who doesn’t want to be bothered.

It’s not loud, it’s not flashy… it just works.

And yes… plenty of awards

If you’re someone who cares about that sort of thing, it’s stacked with them.

Tripadvisor awards, British Airways, TUI, Jet2… the usual big names.

Plus spa awards across Europe, which probably say more than most.

At some point though, it just comes down to this…

People go, they enjoy it, and they come back.

That’s usually the real test.

Worth it?

If you’re after a quieter, more established kind of luxury in Tenerife… not the all-inclusive chaos… then yes, it’s one of the safer bets.

Not cheap, obviously.

But places like this rarely are.
