The 52nd Rallye Orvecame Isla Tenerife Histórico is getting ready to bring the 2026 Spanish Historic Rally Championship to a close, with the event taking place on 23 and 24 October.
Organised by CD Rallyten Sport, this year’s rally will feature two stages and eight timed sections, covering a total of 315 kilometres, including 107 kilometres against the clock.
Entries opened on 21 September at 14:00 and will remain open until 14 October at 14:00 through the Real Federación Española de Automovilismo platform.
Puerto de la Cruz takes centre stage
Puerto de la Cruz will once again provide the main base for the rally.
The Plaza del Charco will host the official start and finish, while pre-event scrutineering will take place around the Casa de la Aduana.
The service park will be located on the city’s port esplanade.
There is also a new venue this year, with the Gran Hotel Taoro hosting the official presentation and operational centre for the rally.
The route will take competitors through several municipalities in the north of Tenerife, including La Orotava, Los Realejos, La Guancha, San Juan de la Rambla, Icod, Garachico and El Tanque.
Eight timed sections
The rally covers 315 kilometres, with 107 kilometres made up of timed stages.
The first stage takes place on Friday 23 October, starting from Puerto de la Cruz at 18:00.
It has a distinctly nocturnal feel, with the Las Medianías-Chasna section run twice over its 13.195 kilometres.
The scheduled times are 19:03 and 21:26.
Saturday’s second stage follows a traditional loop format, with three sections run twice:
- Medianías-Palo Blanco, 11.151 km, at 09:18 and 13:52
- El Lagar-Llanito Perera, 16.745 km, at 10:11 and 14:45
- El Tanque-Drago Icod, 12.629 km, at 11:19 and 15:53
The organisers have also requested permission from the RFEDA for an optional, free shakedown on Friday for the speed category cars.
If approved, this will take place in San Juan de la Rambla, using the route from the San José section to the Mirador de Mazapé. The service area would be based along the old Carretera del Norte in Santa Catalina, within La Guancha.
A 25th anniversary celebration
This year’s rally will also include a special tribute to Club Deportivo Turcan Sport, which is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its own annual event.
The two organisations will share a number of sporting and institutional activities as part of the celebrations.
On Saturday 24 October, the Antiguo Mercado in Los Realejos will host an official regrouping between sections of the rally, giving the anniversary celebrations a strong connection with the event itself.
Ferry discounts for competitors
Rallyten Sport is also working to renew its collaboration with Fred. Olsen, with the aim of offering special rates and discounts for teams travelling by ferry to Tenerife from Huelva and other islands.
The rally is supported by the Cabildo de Tenerife through Deportes Tenerife, with Orvecame-CICAR as main sponsor and support from Fred. Olsen, Canaribat, Hotel Maga and Gran Hotel Taoro.
